Saturday get-together
Yesterday Tom, Annette, Hanna and Harley came over for a day of fun. It started out with a grueling bike ride through the neighborhood….twice! We had two of those Child Bike Trailers with two kids in each of them in tow. All of the kids seemed to love being chauffeured around. I took the babies the first time around but I burned out after the hill in the final stretch so Annette took them for the second tour. I really should bike more…my lazy butt is usually spent behind this computer or playing with the kids…lazily.
We then spent some time in the basement playing ping pong and letting the kids play with the toys. Sue and I tallied up an impressive score in singles against Tom…Tom playing left handed that is. But still it’s good to know that we are improving. Sue prepared a great dinner with pulled Beef, baked potatoes, corn and topped off by Annette’s green bean casserole. Yummy stuff.
As the day drew on we spent some time outside playing with various things. In the evening we all took on the task of constructing our scarecrow using the light post in front of the house. We all had a hint of “MacGuyver” come out in making it a great looking scarecrow. The kids dismantled the bail of hay…straw…or is it hay? Annette started the debate as she is known worldwide for her hay and straw discernability. Either way, the kids had a blast jumping into the straw…hay. Here are some pictures of the scarecrow and kids:
