Bing Bang Bong
I believe I have officially given up on getting a drum set. We went to Guitar Center on Montage Mountain to look and test out some of the electronic drum kits. When we got there there were a couple of kids playing drums semi-skillfully and I was told they only have 2 sets of sticks they lend out so I had to wait until one of the kids was done. I waited and eventually got sticks to try out the kits. I was tapping on some of the drum heads and cymbals trying to get a feel for the drums and another guy was testing out a cymbal. Not five minutes into my experimenting and in comes a family that looked straight from…eh…not a nice place. Two of their spawn somehow got sticks parked themselves at nearby acoustic kits and pounded the hell out of the drums and cymbals. I felt myself ready to snap and chuck one of the kids over the counter but I had Ryan with me and decided I would weather the ear-piercing sound while he got to have fun hitting the electronic drums. This situation really turned me off to the idea of getting my own kit…why I don’t really know.
So now I have been pricing parts to rebuild my computer. It really is a complete overhaul. I’m going to upgrade the CPU to a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, the motherboard to the Gigabyte 790GX, RAM to the G.Skill 2GB PC2 6400, graphics card to the EVGA Geforce 9800 GTX, power supply to a Corsair 750W and the case to the Cooler Master RC-690. I have a decent hard drive, CD burner and DVD player so I really do not need to upgrade those. Total bill will be $636 and after the rebates $586. I may reserve Call of Duty World at War or Fallout 3.
